  • The Allergies, Andy Cooper, Dr. Syntax & Pete Cannon - Why You Buggin'/Downtime [7" Vinyl]

Bombstrikes make a long awaited return to the world of vinyl with this limited edition 7'' from The Allergies. There are two outstanding funk jams to choose from here, both taken from their Funk N Beats compilation, with the guys working their magic in the form of collaborators or remixers. On the A side, long time friend of the duo Andy Cooper (Ugly Duckling) delivers the vocals on ' Why You Buggin'' a tribute to the legendary Run DMC. Over on the flip, the Bristol duo remix Dr Syntax and Pete Cannon's 'Downtime' in their trademark style with the funk licks complementing the infectious vocals perfectly. This is pure dancefloor gold and available for the first time on vinyl! Get in quick though as these won't last long.

2020 has certainly been a year which could be, at the very least, labelled as strange. However, Bombstrikes has maintained its philosophy of delivering feel good music throughout and offered some much-needed distraction. The results of which are clearly on show with their 'Best of 2020' album, bringing together highlights from the labels releases and rounding off the year nicely.

Bombstrikes isn't slowing down it seems. The tracks on show here have already notched up a number of top 10 and no.1 chart positions, with all the label regulars in full attendance. Switzerland's beats maestros The Niceguys kick things off in some style before we are treated to funked out Hip Hop vibes of Dr Syntax & Pete Cannon remixed by The Allergies. There are several outings from the legendary Krafty Kuts, both on his own and alongside the prodigious talent Dubra. There is more bass heavy goodness from LA's Ninjula, Lack Jemmon and the always funky Kibosh. X-Ray Ted once again shows us that he just keeps getting better and better and Parisians Propser & Stabfinger team up with a whole team of outstanding vocalists for two slices of their unique funk goodness. There are of course disco grooves from Shaka Loves You and also welcome debuts from Jet Boot Jack and Mr Doris & D-funk. Quite a collection of music. At least something good came out of 2020!

Bombstrikes UK

Founded in 2004, by two of the label's key artists, Mooqee & Beatvandals, each release had to be a bomb! This ethos continued throughout the initial vinyl based volume series and as the label evolved alongside the changing digital landscape, helping to develop a global funk and mid tempo scene along the way.

Home to the much loved Funk N' Beats, Disco Funkin' and Bass Funk compilation series.
